Learn the basics of sewing from scratch while making a boxy tote bag and reversible bucket hat across two relaxed, hands-on lessons.

2 lessons · 3 hours each · Complete beginners

You’ll bring your own sewing machine and fabrics, and I’ll provide the patterns, project instructions and guidance throughout the workshop.

We’ll work through everything together, from setting up and threading your machine to cutting, reading a pattern, sewing and finishing your projects. There’ll be plenty of hands-on help and one-on-one guidance along the way.

No previous sewing experience needed.

❋ WHAT TO EXPECT
Small, relaxed classes with practical projects and plenty of one-on-one help. I’ve chosen two beginner-friendly projects and provide the patterns, instructions and guidance throughout. Projects and patterns are set for the workshop, so you can focus on learning, making and leaving feeling confident.

The basics of using your sewing machine, cutting and preparing fabric, reading patterns, putting projects together, finishing and troubleshooting along the way.

❋ YOUR TEACHER
I’m Emma, the maker behind Tomm Studios. I’ve spent five years working in costume and three years teaching sewing to adults and kids.

❋ INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS
Rather than spreading a workshop over several weeks, intensive workshops take place over a couple of days, keeping everything close together so you can stay in the rhythm of learning and making.
